Winter Storm Update Monday, February 17, 2020

Categories: Garbage & Recycling, Streets & Sanitation

Weather forecasts are calling for a winter storm beginning this afternoon, Monday, February 17, 2020 and ending early tomorrow morning. Forecasts are calling for anywhere from two to four inches of snow. The Department is currently monitoring the weather and will be responding accordingly.

Beginning at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, until the advisory is lifted, the DPW will have 12 plow and salt trucks available as needed.

Please remember to follow the Winter Parking Rules:

On odd-numbered days:

Between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having odd-numbered street addresses. (East and South Sides)

On even-numbered days:

Between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having even-numbered street addresses. (North and West Sides)

Streets posted with “No Parking” restrictions shall remain in effect; therefore are NOT under alternate side parking rules.

Please follow the simple rule: PARK FOR TOMORROW

The DPW requests that residents continue to clear a spot for their garbage and recycling bags. It is prohibited to place the garbage and recycling bags on snow banks for collection.

The DPW appreciates your patience as the drivers work to clear the over 200 miles of streets.
