2026 Wildwood Cemetery Spring Cleanup

Categories: Parks & Forestry, City Projects, Wildwood Cemetery

It’s spring cleanup time at Wildwood Cemetery. The Cemetery Division asks for your help in clearing all winter decorations to help maintain the beauty of Wildwood Cemetery. Lot owners are respectfully asked to remove their winter decorations by April 1, 2026. Any items not removed by April 1 will be disposed of by cemetery staff.

With over 25,000 graves to maintain, the support of families who observe the cemetery rules is greatly appreciated. We ask that you refrain from placing spring or summer decorations until May 1.

Some rules to keep in mind:

  • Beginning May 1, 2026, new decorations or flowers may be placed on gravesites.
  • No tall perennials may be planted if they block lettering on markers.
  • Flowers may be planted only in front of stones, with the exception of Section 19, which only allows artificial flowers.
  • No perennials or plants with thorns, thistles, or burs are allowed.
  • Maximum flowerbed size is one foot from the marker and the width of the marker.
  • No fences, above‑ground edging, or gravel. Shredded bark or similar materials may be used.
  • Dirt mounds in the flowerbed or near the marker are not allowed.
  • Decorations made of glass or materials that shatter easily are not allowed.
  • Up to two solar lights may be placed at each marker.
  • Flags placed in the ground must have the cloth or plastic portion at least 12 inches above ground level.

Thank you for helping us maintain the beauty of Wildwood Cemetery.
